We evaluated Hasura, but at the time it did not support pre-existing PostgreSQL databases. Dgraph looks interesting but we were not looking specifically for a GraphDB. We have a number of internal ETL tools and are very comfortable with operating PostgreSQL, so Graphile was a great fit for exposing pg data as GraphQL.
